A figure sits hunched over on the ground, a sculpture, a back made of plaster, a slightly protruding spine. A wooden arm stretches over the body, holding it together, the other arm, metal, stretches out into the room over the floor. Appendages of different materials, different levels of detail, joined together by the plastered torso. The textile head turns inwards, down, away from the viewer.

The figure gathers around an inner point, as if trying to hold itself together in a state of strain. The different parts meet in a tension where the materials both support and oppose one another, the joints appear temporary, almost hesitant. In these transitions, a sense emerges that the structure could shift at any moment, be renegotiated — a fragility.

The averted posture shifts the relationship to the viewer. The figure offers no direct contact, withdraws. The gesture suggests an inner process, where maintaining form and balance becomes a quiet, continuous effort.
